Training Resource Center

Aspiring medical writers face many barriers to starting in this profession. Wouldn't it be great to have clear, comprehensive, step-by-step guidance to transition into the field? If you are looking to change your career, this resource center will help you recenter your goals and find the best path forward.

The resources and advice presented here are based on my personal experience. This approach will not work for everyone and may not be the right fit for every situation. We all have different goals and learning styles. Adapt whatever information fits your needs and disregard what doesn’t. If this resource is not a good fit, consider the step-by-step guides and coaching programs from other sources at the end.

How to Use This Training Center

This resource center guides you through five clear steps to aid your transition into or within medical writing. Each step includes practical actions with clear goals and links to supplements from my coaching program.

Follow the steps sequentially, beginning at whichever step you currently are in your journey, or begin by focusing on the areas that are most important to you.

Revisit steps as your needs evolve. This center is flexible and self-paced to help you make your medical writing transition most efficient.

You can either start with the Comprehensive Resource Guide to Getting Started in Medical Writing or explore the corresponding sections from this guide with each step. Links to these corresponding sections are provided under “additional resources.”

Coaching Policy & FAQ

Can I get coaching for multiple steps or ongoing support?
Yes, you can request coaching for any or all steps separately. For ongoing or more in-depth support, please contact me to discuss tailored coaching options.

What if my questions are outside your expertise?
I review questions upfront and provide guidance within my expertise. If I cannot offer substantial advice on a topic, I will let you know free of charge and offer general direction or resources when possible.

How much involvement do you have in helping with my portfolio?
Coaching feedback is designed to guide and empower you. I do not rewrite or create work on your behalf. Your work remains your own. With that in mind, the practice assignments should only be used in your portfolio when my feedback is very minimal.

What if I’m not satisfied with the coaching?
Because of the nature of personalized coaching services, all sales are final. I do not offer refunds. Please review your questions carefully before submitting to ensure the session will meet your needs. The more thorough your questions and answers are, the better advice I can give.

Can I cancel or reschedule the Zoom call?
Yes, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance to reschedule. No-shows without notice forfeit the session without refund.
